Today Year 10 students worked with students from Room A to produce a book about International week or our recent World Vision Day. We had lots of fun using the computers and enjoyed being able to take our books home to share with our families.

Indonesian music making for International Week
A group of dedicated students and mothers have been meeting for the last two weeks to learn a new instrument.
The angklung is a musical instrument made of two bamboo tubes attached to a bamboo frame. The tubes are carved to have a resonant pitch when struck and are tuned to octaves. The base of the frame is held in one hand, whilst the other hand strikes the instrument. This causes a repeating note to sound. Each of three or more performers in an angklung ensemble play just one note or more, but altogether complete melodies are produced. The Angklung is popular throughout Southeast Asia, but it originated in today's Indonesia and has been played by the Sundanese for many centuries.
Come and listen to their premier performance at this week's special International Assembly at on Friday at 12 o'clock!
Takumi drummers open International week!

The ground shook as the Japanese Takumi drummers performed on a crisp winter's morning to open our International week. Students, teachers and family members alike were transfixed by the electrifying performance.
